At LaserLab, we utilize the Summus Laser, an advanced class IV laser therapy laser device that can address various medical and health conditions. This laser device is powerful but also completely safe and customizable. We can adjust the power of the laser to address different medical conditions and help the body heal and restore itself to optimal functioning.
As a class IV laser therapy device, the Summus Laser operates according to wavelength and power. The laser wavelength is the color of the light emitted by the laser and can improve blood flow, reduce inflammation, relax the muscles, stimulate acupuncture points, and promote nerve conduction.
Laser power refers to how fast or slow the energy leaves the machine and targets the treatment area. Unlike other lasers of lower classes, this class IV device can be adjusted as needed to treat various conditions with the right dosage. Therefore, we can safely and accurately treat muscle conditions and sports injuries and even adjust the device to deliver a lower dosage based on the specific situation.
It’s important to note that this treatment is not the same as light therapy. We offer red light therapy beds, which have many benefits, including increasing collagen production, decreasing inflammation, and improving muscle tissues, among others. However, while effective and beneficial to overall health, light therapy devices are less measurable and less consistent than this class IV laser device.

We can use it to treat sports injuries, chronic and acute pain, and neuropathy, including the symptoms associated with diabetes. Once you schedule your laser treatment, you can confidently move forward, knowing that the entire process is comfortable and pain-free. The device will deliver laser light to your target area but will do so without any associated pain. Some patients report feeling a warming, tingling sensation during treatment; others don’t feel any sensation.
Before we develop your customized treatment plan, we will meet with you to discuss your symptoms and condition and create a custom-tailored experience that’s right for you. Depending on your condition, you may benefit from daily treatments, typically recommended for acute medical conditions, or treatments every two to three weeks if you’re suffering from a chronic condition.
Once you notice changes in your symptoms and improvements in your health and overall condition, we can discuss reducing your treatments and focusing on maintenance. Patients suffering from acute medical conditions may need four to six treatments to resolve their symptoms. In comparison, those suffering from chronic conditions may need six to 12 or more treatments and routine maintenance appointments for long-term healing and relief.
Some patients experience results after an initial Summus Laser treatment, especially if their primary focus is treating acute or chronic pain. For others, the most noticeable results may take several treatments. Each treatment will build on the previous results, so even if you don’t feel the initial results, the device is working to target your treatment area and promote optimal health and healing.
